FAQ

Yes!  NAVA is open to all voice actors. We have members in 9 countries!

Yes!  NAVA is a non-profit association and welcomes all voice actors regardless of union status.  Our executive board has SAG-AFTRA members we as well as Non-Union and Ficore members. 

Membership Dues are all "Per Year"

You only need to provide 3-5 pieces of material from the list provided below.  

  1. Membership Eligibility & Term

1.1 Eligibility

You represent and warrant that you are either (a) at least 18 years old and have the legal authority to enter into this Agreement, or (b) a working voice actor under the age of 18 with consent and authorization from a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

1.2 Term

Membership is effective on the date payment (if applicable) is received by NAVA and continues for the period specified in your membership level (e.g., one year) unless terminated earlier under this Agreement.

1.3 Renewal

Membership renews at the end of the term unless canceled in accordance with Section 8 below.

  1. Member Benefits

2.1 Benefits

NAVA may provide benefits such as newsletters, member-only resources, access to webinars or events, legal aid programs, advocacy initiatives, educational programming, and industry tools (collectively, “Benefits”).

2.2 No Guarantee; Changes

Eligibility for specific benefits is tied to timely payment of dues (if applicable). Benefits may vary by membership tier, are subject to availability, may change at any time, and are not guaranteed in any given year or membership period. NAVA reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any Benefit at its sole discretion.

  1. Dues & Payment

3.1 Fees

Payment of membership dues (if required) is due as described on the NAVA website or enrollment platform at the time of registration.

3.2 Billing

You authorize NAVA to charge your designated payment method for membership dues and applicable taxes.

3.3 Refunds

Membership dues are non-refundable, except as required by law.

  1. Member Obligations

4.1 Accurate Information

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to update it as needed.

4.2 Conduct

You agree to abide by applicable professional and ethical standards in your use of NAVA’s services and participation in NAVA programs, events, and community spaces. This includes, but is not limited to, compliance with NAVA’s Anti-Harassment Guidelines, Code of Conduct, and all applicable community standards.

Harassment, discrimination, exploitation, misuse of resources, or conduct that undermines NAVA’s mission, reputation, or community may result in suspension or termination of membership.

4.3 No Unauthorized Use

You will not use member benefits, materials, mailing lists, or resources for unauthorized commercial distribution, solicitation, resale, or spam.

  1. Use of Materials & Intellectual Property

5.1 NAVA Materials

All materials provided to members (“Member Materials”) are licensed for personal and member-only use. You may not reproduce, redistribute, republish, sublicense, sell, or commercially exploit Member Materials without prior written consent from NAVA.

5.2 Third-Party Content

NAVA may link to or share third-party content, resources, or services. Your use of third-party content is governed by separate terms and is undertaken at your own risk.

  1. Data & Privacy

6.1 Privacy Policy

Your membership is subject to NAVA’s Privacy Policy, which explains how personal data is collected, used, shared, and protected. By enrolling, you consent to communications related to membership, programming, advocacy, and organizational updates.

  1. Limitations of Liability & Disclaimers

7.1 Disclaimer

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NAVA provides Benefits and services “as is” and disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

7.2 Limitation of Liability

NAVA’s total liability under this Agreement is limited to the amount of dues you paid in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim or $100, whichever is greater.

NAVA shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, reputational, or business-related losses.

  1. Cancellation & Termination

8.1 By Member

You may cancel your membership at any time by contacting NAVA support and discontinuing use of member benefits. Cancellation is effective at the end of your paid membership term. No refunds will be issued.

8.2 By NAVA

NAVA may suspend or terminate your membership at any time, with or without cause, in its sole discretion, including but not limited to breach of this Agreement, violation of NAVA policies, inappropriate conduct, reputational risk, or conduct harmful to NAVA or its community.

Upon termination, all member benefits, licenses, and access rights immediately cease.

  1. Governing Law & Disputes

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of California, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will first be addressed informally; if unresolved, it shall be resolved through binding arbitration under applicable law.

  1. Changes to Terms

NAVA reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes and updated effective dates. Continued use of membership benefits after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Membership Criteria

NAVA is a professional association. In order to join as a member you must be a professional voice actor, able to submit 3-5 supporting materials to show professional voiceover work from the previous 12 months.
 

Please provide 3-5 Examples of supporting materials from the list below:

-A voiceover website

-Your IMDb page

-Your online casting profile page (Voice123, Voices, Bodalgo, Fiverr, etc.)

-A link to a video of your work

-Your LinkedIn page, your Facebook Professional Page, or other social media which lists you as a professional

-Any online reviews of your work

-Other links showing your work

 

Once your submission has been approved (less than one week), you will be able to enroll as a member. Introductory first year membership costs $175 for a full year, which entitles you to all member benefits, including access to apply for the health insurance plans.

If your submission is not approved, or you are not able to pay the membership fee, you can sign up to the mailing list to be updated on the many free or donation based events that are offered by NAVA that do not require a membership.


You may re-apply to become a member once 6 months have elapsed since your last application.
